India-Canada CEO Forum marks new era in bilateral trade, say business leaders

 

The India-Canada CEO Forum was characterized by a fresh wave of optimism and momentum, with business leaders from both countries highlighting a “new chapter” in bilateral relations across sectors like AI, quantum technologies, and defense. Reflecting the tone established by the two nations’ Prime Ministers, attendees portrayed the engagement as a reset of ties, placing heavy focus on trade deals, mutual investments, and tangible results. The India-Canada CEOs Forum, convened in the national capital, was attended by Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Mark Carney. Dheeraj Jain, Founder and Chairman of Redcliffe Labs, emphasized the common vision fueling the partnership. “Our thoughts are very aligned, and I believe our values are very aligned.” We need to observe consistent growth in each of these sectors. “But I think it looks very optimistic today, at least…” he said, echoing the overall sentiment at the Forum. Joby John, Founder and CEO of Techversant Infotech, highlighted recent progress in ties. John stated that the past few months have been excellent, with the relationship strengthening and backed by governments. “Absolutely, we anticipate significant sales growth, and India and Canada could be strong partners in IT, as well as potentially AI and quantum technologies and more…” noted Joby John. Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), highlighted the main discussion topics. “…we discussed numerous opportunities for bilateral investments, particularly those in India.” Currently, India is drawing significant investments across various sectors.
