​To mark World Earth Day, BE WTR convened a Sustainability Roundtable at W Hotel Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, which welcomed some of the UAE’s most influential voices across hospitality, sustainability, media, and local community initiatives. With ESG practices a hot topic right now, the event shone a spotlight on homegrown brands and changemakers who are actively shaping a more responsible, circular, and environmentally conscious future in the region.  

​Bermuda is set to take centre stage this spring as King Charles III makes his first official visit to the island as Sovereign. Taking place from 30 April to 2 May 2026, the visit marks a significant moment for the British Overseas Territory and its enduring relationship with the UK. 

His Majesty’s last official visit to Bermuda was in 1970 to read the Speech from the Throne and open the 350th year of parliamentary government in Bermuda. This will be the first Sovereign visit in 16 years, following Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s visited in 2009 to join celebrations of the 400th anniversary of settlement, and comes some 73 years after they first visited the island in 1953.  

​The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is bringing together a select group of global Travel & Tourism leaders in Egypt in early May for a Leadership event aboard Crystal Serenity, taking place during transit through the Suez Canal, one of the world’s most critical trade and connectivity corridors.

​Two new British Airways routes took to the skies this week, as the first flights to St. Louis, Missouri in the US, and Guernsey in the Channel Islands departed from London

St. Louis became the 27th US destination to join the British Airways network, as the inaugural flight to the ‘Gateway to the West’ landed. The airline offers more direct flights to the US than any other European airline. In a playful pun, the first flight was operated by an entire crew named Louis, Lewis or Louise.  

​Emirates, the world’s first Autism-Certified Airline, has launched its “Travel Rehearsal” programme in the UK, hosting its first session in the country at London Stansted Airport (STN).

The Travel Rehearsal programme allows people with accessible travel requirements to experience a guided simulation of the complete air travel journey, familiarising them with airport procedures and onboard environments ahead of time – helping reduce anxiety and build confidence before an actual flight.
