​ Five medical officers were dismissed for remaining absent from duty for a prolonged period without information and for staying away from medical work  

​ A preliminary police probe suggested that the deceased had used the washroom near the MG Road boulevard walkway and was crossing to the other side of the road when a reportedly speeding car struck him.
